Pursuit of a Rational Worldview

Introduction

Handbook of Logic and Rational Thought

Pursuit of a Rational Worldview

This book has a three-fold intent.  First, it serves as a handbook of logic and rational thinking.  It documents fundamental truths that few philosophers or scientists deny.  And it shows how logic can go awry, and how to recognize and differentiate the logical from illogical, fact from fallacy.  It is by no means comprehensive, but is a summary of the basics, organized in a fashion that I find useful.

Second, the tools developed for logical thought processes are applied to the fundamental worldview concepts of Atheism, to determine their validity. This process is carried through with a separate analysis of the characters and behaviors of Atheism and the problems that are posed by Atheists concerning issues of theism.  Also, the tenets of Darwinian evolution are analyzed using the same concepts of logic and rational thought. It is a very interesting journey.

Third, the process of building a valid worldview upon the firm foundations of truth is presented.

There is no “Creationism” or theism in this work, even where analyzing Atheist problems with theism.  This is a logical, analytical, rational view of the worldview of Atheism.

“For it is the natural tendency of the ignorant to believe what is not true. In order to overcome that tendency it is not sufficient to exhibit the true; it is also necessary to expose and denounce the false.”
H. L. Mencken  [Atheist] (source unknown)

“Falseness is easy to create and perpetuate; Truth requires rigor, intellectual firmness, honesty and persistence.”
